There were about 52,000 power outages across Connecticut Sunday evening after about 100,000 late Saturday night.
Local leaders and state representatives in Dearborn called out DTE Energy Monday night, after thousands remained without power since Friday's storms.
DTE says restoring power was hampered by downed wires and trees, some that fell outside the utility's easements, and out-of-state crews had own outages.
Local leaders want JCP&L to get better at telling customers when they can expect to get their restored after the July 3 storm tore through the region.
A little less than 50,000 New Jersey residents were still without power as of Monday evening following a weekend of thunder and rain storms. As utility companies were working to restore power across the state,
"The failure to respond in a timely and effective manner requires more direct state intervention," Rep. Alabas Farhat said.
